My one goal by working with these heritage breeds is to improve them so they are like the standard. Their feed will be the best and most natural. They are allowed to graze and free range on a daily basis.
I
currently have Bourbon Red Turkeys. This is an awesome gentle heritage
breed, which means they can lay, hatch and raise their young without any human
intervention. This breed is to be about 25 to 35 pounds for a full grown
Tom and the hems should be 12-18 pounds. They do mature slowly and will
take about 18 months to reach their full size. I will occasionally have a
bird available for the table.

I also have a trio of Colored Dorkings, a trio of Light Grey Dorkings and a trio Dark Grey Dorkings. This breed is on the endangered list and I will be working on increasing my numbers and quality of my stock. I will occasionally have birds available but not until at least summer of 2010

I have also started a flock of Light Brahmas. I currently have eggs in the incubator and have 2 wonderful pullets that are sweet and gentle. I may have some available birds in the spring of 2010
My
pet project is my Salmon Faverolles. These kind, docile, gentle birds are
my love. They have such sweet personalities. A huge Thanks sto Kurt
Dudt for sending such an awesome foundation rooster. As my flock grows I may
have chicks and/or eggs available spring 2010
